Family Portraiture We believe that the essence of successful family portraits is to capture the spirit and character of a group, both at home and at play, as individulas and collectively.
In practice what this means is a collection of photographs taken at your home (either with or without a white background) and in a recreational area (usually a local park).
The advantage this has over current-trend studio photography is that it not only captures the characters within your family; it also captures the era.
Everyone dressed in black might be pleasingly minimalistic. But in 30 years time, will you know when and where you were when they were taken? Apart from hair styles and people's ages, you won't have much more to go on.
We take an approach that trends are all well and good, but a successful family portrait should capture the time and space as well as the people.

Pet and Animal Photography This can be as part of a family portraiture session (they're a part of your family too!) or individually. As opposed to just taking a 'snap', we treat an animal's portrait just as we do for anyone else; with time and attention to detail, getting as much of your friend's character in to the shot as possible. Individual Portraits These can be for personal use (a graduation, a present for a loved one etc.) or for commercial use (a website, company brochure etc.). Portraits can be in a formal 'executive style' or completely informal. Each brief is different so we will take the time to discuss your requirements, nail down exactly what the photograph is trying to achieve and suggest ways to get the portrait you're looking for.
